Bookings on your website

How to put the booking widget on your venue's website — WordPress, Wix, Webnode, or just a link — and what to check before your first evening.

1Where to find the code and the link

  1. Sign in to the app and open Settings → Website widget.
  2. Copy the code for your website with the “Copy snippet” button. It is a few lines that start with <script. If your phone number is filled in under Settings → Business, the code contains it: if the booking widget does not load, guests will at least see the number. Without a phone number, the code shows a link to the booking page instead.
  3. The link to the booking page is in the same place. Use it where the code cannot be pasted (Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps, an e-mail signature).
  4. Under Settings → Website widget → Allowed domains add the address of your website, for example https://www.your-restaurant.com — the address only, with nothing after the slash. If your site works both with and without www, add both. Until the list holds at least one domain, the booking widget loads on no website at all. The link to the booking page always works.
Sample code — copy your real code in the app
<!-- Booking widget (Bruchma Reservations) -->
<script src="https://reservations.bruchma.cz/widget.js" defer></script>
<div id="bruchma-reservation-widget" data-tenant="your-restaurant"
     data-locale="en" data-phone="+420 123 456 789">
  <p>Book by phone: +420 123 456 789</p>
</div>

2WordPress

Block editor (Gutenberg)

  1. Open the page where the bookings should go (for example “Reservations” or “Contact”) in the editor.
  2. Click + and choose the Custom HTML block.
  3. Paste the code you copied and click Update (or “Publish”).
  4. Open the page as a visitor and check that the booking widget appears.

Classic editor

  1. Switch the editor to the Text tab (not “Visual”).
  2. Paste the code where the booking widget should be and update the page.

On WordPress.com (the hosted version), custom code with a script can only be pasted in plans that allow plugins. On cheaper plans, use a button with the booking link instead of the code. On your own hosting (WordPress.org) there is no such limit.

3Wix

  1. In the editor, choose Add (+) → Embed code → Embed HTML.
  2. Choose the Code option and paste the code you copied.
  3. Stretch the frame to the height of the booking widget (about 600 px) and check on the mobile version of your site that it fits.
  4. Publish the site.

Wix shows embedded code in a frame on its own address, not on the address of your website. If the booking widget says it is unavailable, open Service status in the app: the “Widget allowed domains” row shows the address the widget was loaded from — add that address to Allowed domains. The simplest alternative on Wix is a button with the booking link.

4Webnode

  1. In the editor, click + where the bookings belong and choose the HTML content.
  2. Paste the code you copied and confirm.
  3. Click Publish.

Webnode allows custom HTML only in paid plans. On the free plan, add a button or a line of text with the booking link.

5No website, or another website: the link

Every venue also has a booking page of its own. You can put the link to it anywhere:

  • Website — a “Book a table” button with this link works in every website editor.
  • Google Maps — add the booking link to your business profile on Google.
  • Facebook and Instagram — a “Book” button on the page, the link in the profile.
  • E-mail signature and a QR code on the tables, on the receipt or in the window.

6When the booking widget does not work

  • It says “The booking system is currently unavailable” — almost always the address of your website is missing from Allowed domains. Service status shows which address is missing.
  • Nothing shows at all, only a line with the phone number — the website editor did not run the script (a plan without custom code, or the code was pasted as text). Paste it as HTML, or use the link.
  • It offers the wrong times — check Settings → Opening hours (closed days too) and Booking rules (minimum notice, length of a booking).
  • Still nothing? Write to info@bruchma.cz with the address of the page where the widget is embedded.

7Checklist for your first evening

  • Opening hours match reality, including closed days and public holidays (Settings → Opening hours).
  • Capacity or tables are right: number of seats, floor layout, largest party (Settings → Tables & floor).
  • Booking rules: how long a booking lasts, how much notice is needed and how far ahead guests can book (Settings → Booking rules).
  • Venue phone number is filled in (Settings → Business) — guests will see it if the booking widget cannot load.
  • E-mails: in Settings → E-mails & alerts send a “Test e-mail” and check that it arrived (also in the spam folder). Choose whether you want an alert for every new booking.
  • A test booking: book as a guest on your website, check the confirmation e-mail and try cancelling the booking with the link from the e-mail.
  • Staff are invited and each has signed in at least once (Staff). Waiting staff only need a role without access to settings.
  • Two-step verification is on for the owner and the recovery codes are stored away from the phone.
  • The venue's legal details (operator name, address, company ID and contact) are filled in under Settings → Business → Legal details. Once they are complete, guests see the privacy policy in the booking widget and in e-mails; until then Service status reminds you.
  • Changes and the waiting list: when you change a guest's time, date or party size, leave “Inform the guest by email” ticked — they get the new details. When a table frees up for a guest on the waiting list, mark them as offered and call them; the system sends them nothing by itself.
  • On the floor: the Today view is open on a tablet or computer at the entrance. As a backup, print the day's seating list (Today → Print the seating list).

Done. Have a good first evening!
